Plastic Surgery Treatments
What is a Plastic Surgery?
Plastic surgery refers to any type of surgery undertaken to restructure or change the appearance of a body part or characteristic.
Plastic surgery can be broadly categorised as either reconstructive or cosmetic surgery, depending on whether it is done primarily to restore function or to change physical appearance.
Reconstructive surgery is a medically indicated treatment used to improve dysfunctional body parts. While it may also change the individual’s appearance, it is instituted primarily to restore function. For example, it can be used to remove webbing from a finger, or reattach limbs severed through trauma.
Cosmetic surgery is initiated by an individual who wants to change the physical appearance of a feature. Although in many cases their physical appearance is normal, they may wish to change the size of their breasts or the shape of their nose. An individual may also use cosmetic surgery to change disfigured body parts and give them a smoother appearance.
What Facelifting is really about?
A facelift is a type of cosmetic surgery procedure used to give a more youthful facial appearance. There are multiple surgical techniques and exercise routines. Surgery involves the removal of excess facial skin, with or without the tightening of underlying tissues, and the re-draping of the skin on the patient’s face and neck. Surgical facelifts are effectively combined with eyelid surgery and other facial procedures and are typically performed under general anesthesia or deep twilight sleep.
What is Blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty or eyelid correction is the plastic surgery operation for correcting defects, deformities, and disfigurations of the eyelids; and for aesthetically modifying the eye region of the face. With the excision and the removal, or the repositioning (or both) of excess tissues, such as skin and adipocyte fat, and the reinforcement of the corresponding muscle and tendon tissues, the blepharoplasty procedure resolves functional and cosmetic problems of the periorbita, which is the area from the eyebrow to the upper portion of the cheek.
Do you know what is "Tummy Tuck"?
Abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to make the abdomen thinner and more firm. The surgery involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall. This type of surgery is usually sought by patients with loose or sagging tissues after pregnancy or major weight loss.
What is a Boob Job?
Breast augmentation (colloquially known as a “boob job”) are plastic surgery terms for the breast-implant and the fat-graft mammoplasty approaches used to increase the size, change the shape, and alter the texture of the breasts of a woman. As a primary reconstruction, augmentation mammoplasty is applied to effect a post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, the repair of the chest wound consequent to the removal of a cancerous breast; to correct congenital defects of the breast(s), and to correct congenital defects of the chest wall. As an elective, cosmetic surgery, primary augmentation changes the aesthetics – of size, shape, and texture – of healthy breasts.
Gynecomastia is an endocrine system disorder in which a non-cancerous increase in the size of male breast tissue occurs. Gynecomastia is a condition that makes breast tissue swell in boys and men. It can happen when the balance of two hormones in your body is thrown off.
Although breasts don’t develop in men the way they do in women, all boys are born with a small amount of breast tissue. When a boy is going through puberty, or when an older man’s body makes less testosterone, the balance of the two hormones changes. Sometimes when that happens, a higher percentage of estrogen causes male breast tissue to swell. About half of adolescent boys and as many as two-thirds of men older than 50 will have this to some degree.
What are the symptoms?
Otoplasty denotes the surgical procedure for correcting the deformities and defects of the pinna (external ear), and for reconstructing a defective or deformed, or absent external ear, consequent to congenital conditions and trauma. The surgeon corrects the defect or deformity by creating an external ear that is of natural proportions, contour, and appearance, usually achieved by the reshaping, the moving, and the augmenting of the cartilaginous support framework of the pinna.
Arm Lift or Brachioplasty
A Brachioplasty, commonly called an arm lift, is a surgical procedure to reshape and provide improved contour to the upper arms and connecting area of the chest wall. While “brachioplasty” is commonly used to describe a specific procedure for the upper arms, the term can also be used to describe any surgical arm contouring. Brachioplasty is often used to address issues such as excessive loose skin or excessive fat in the arms when it does not respond well to diet and exercise. Brachioplasty is a common procedure for patients who have experienced massive weight loss.
Nose Correction, Septeroplasty
Septoroplasty is a corrective surgical procedure done to straighten the nasal septum, the partition between the two nasal cavities. Ideally, the septum should run down the center of the nose. When it deviates into one of the cavities, it narrows that cavity and impedes airflow. A deviated nasal septum or “crooked” internal nose can occur at childbirth or as the result of an injury or other trauma.
Functional endoscopic sinus surgery is the modern approach to surgery on the sinuses. It places an emphasis on function. Given that we now know how important the normal anatomy and lining of the sinuses are to sinus health, the surgery is all about establishing ventilation and drainage along the normal pathways with maximum preservation of normal structures and in particular the sinus linings. The surgery is now a minimal rather than an extensive destructive procedure.
What is an Erectile Dysfunction?
ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION is a condition when a person is not able to maintain the hardness of the penis until the end of the sexual activity or to achieve a continuous and sustained erection.
80% of the men who received Shock Wave Therapy and Penile PRP treatment (P-shot) were able to enter the drug-free relationship if appropriate treatment was done. Also, about 90% of all men who took treatment reported that their sexual performance improved in the positive direction.
